COVID-19 Policy
As of Spring 2022, masks are not mandatory. We are waiting for updates from the Department of Health for further COVID protocols and guidance.
For summer 2022, we are diligently following safety protocols to prevent the spread of COVID. We ran our in-person camp the last 2 years and did not experience a single positive case. We will continue to update policies and procedures as we receive guidance from the CDC, ACA, and DOH.
All youth and adults are required to wear masks at all times while indoors
All staff are fully vaccinated, students are highly encouraged to be vaccinated
We have a reduced enrollment to ensure proper social distancing.
All classrooms are large, well-ventilated, and cleaned daily.
Our team tested prior to camp starting.
All campers and staff complete daily health screening.
Campers work from individual supply kits and collaborative activities are limited.
We require any positive cases to be reported. We immediately notify contact tracing and families.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Implementing some of the above guidelines may result in Splat Camp severely limiting registration. In such an event, the first consideration will be given to those families that have already registered.
What if a camper or staff member at camp tests positive for COVID-19? We will continue to update this page as more guidance is released. Here is the policy from 2021.
Please note the below information is based on 2021 COVID-19 regulations. We will update this page frequently as the state releases new information.
In the event of a confirmed COVID-19 case (of a camper or staff member on-site) the camp director will immediately notify local health officials. Health officials will help determine a course of action for the program. Splat Camp will coordinate with local health officials to communicate closure decisions and the possible COVID-19 exposure to families. Communication will include messages to counter potential stigma and discrimination. No youth or counselor names will be shared. All Splat Camp staff is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of youth or staff names, as required by privacy laws.
The camp will close the site, or room, where the exposure was reported for the time period required by the state. This could be for a minimum of 24 hours. This initial short-term closure allows time for local health officials to gain a better understanding of the COVID-19 situation impacting Camp. Local health officials will help determine appropriate next steps, including whether an extended closure duration is needed. In the event of a closure, we discourage staff, campers, and families from gathering or socializing anywhere. This includes group child-care arrangements.
Camp will then be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. Splat Camp will assess all health and safety procedures, site operations, and any need for increased monitoring and/or training. We will ultimately need to make the decision on what steps need to be taken moving forward, including whether and when to reopen Camp.
